Slow Cooker Ham and Gruyere Quiche

There is nothing I love more than sitting down at the breakfast table, looking at a beautiful spread, and knowing that it took very little effort to accomplish. I love cooking in my kitchen, but there are days when I want to soak up as much extra time as a family while my kids are young. I have a running list on my phone of recipes called The Holy Grail list, and this ham and Gruyere cheese quiche is at the top. It takes 15 minutes to put together, and it’s the perfect set-it-and-forget comfort food that blends savory ham with a hint of nutty sweetness from the cheese. The easy cleanup makes this a no-brainer for me, especially when hosting brunch or breakfast. I hope you love it as much as we do!

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 2 hours and ten minutes

Servings: 6-8

Ham and Gruyere Cheese Quiche Recipe:

  • 1 pie crust (Pillsbury)

  • 9 large eggs

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • ½ tsp. black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder or 2 tsp diced onion

  • 1 cup diced ham

  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. Place a piece of parchment paper into the slow cooker. It should be big enough to cover the bottom and up the sides.

  2. Unroll the pie crust and add it to the slow cooker. I like to pinch the sides where there is extra crust for a prettier finished look.

  1. Add the eggs, whipping cream, diced ham, cheese, salt, pepper, and onion to a large bowl. Mix until combined (save 1- 2 ounces of cheese for the top).

  2. Pour the egg mixture into the slow cooker.

  3. Place the lid on your crockpot and cook on high for 2 hours. You will know it's done when the center is firm.

  4. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and replace the lid. Once the cheese is melted, lift your quiche out of the crockpot, place it on a cute dish, and enjoy!
