Taco Bouquet

I love taco night, but sometimes I just need a break from the dishes. Washing every little bowl for toppings used to hold me back from throwing taco night until I decided to create a Taco Bouquet. I started making this on vacation when I had minimal dishes to even try to dirty, and I wanted to keep the floor clean with little kids. I loved that this simple method saved me time, but didn’t sacrifice flavor. The unique cone shape keeps all of the toppings from falling out, making it an easy meal you can walk around with at summer parties, too.

Prep Time: 20 minutes (These are my vacation tacos, so I buy the pre-diced veggies)

Bake time: 15-20 minutes

Servings: 3-4

Ingredients:

-1 pound ground beef

-1 tablespoon olive oil

-1 tablespoon minced garlic

-2 tablespoons taco seasoning

-1 tablespoon tomato paste

-Salt and Pepper to taste

-8 tortillas

-8 ounces shredded cheese +3-4 additional ounces for the top

-1/2 cup diced onion

-1/2 cup strained pico de gallo

-3-4 ounces shredded lettuce

-Cilantro to taste

-Sour cream (Squeezable is best for this recipe)

Instructions:

  1. Set your oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Cut your 8 tortillas down the middle.

  3. Heat a large pan on the stove before adding olive oil and ground beef.

  4. Next, add salt, pepper, minced garlic, taco seasoning, and tomato paste, and brown the meat.

  5. Once the meat is browned, add it to a large bowl.

  6. Next, add all taco toppings- shredded cheese, onion, pico de gallo, jalapeños, cilantro, and lettuce, and mix.

  7. Once mixed, place a piece of parchment paper on a large baking sheet and place a small bowl in the center to help with positioning the tacos.

  8. Roll each halved tortilla into a cone shape and fill with taco meat filling before placing each one onto the baking pan into the shape of a large circle or wreath.

  9. Take the bowl off the pan and sprinkle the taco cones with the remaining shredded cheese and bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the tortilla becomes slightly crispy.

  10. Once out of the oven, garnish with more cilantro, place the bowl back into the middle, and add salsa or guacamole if you wish.

  11. Grab a taco cone just like you would a waffle cone and top with sour cream to enjoy!
