If you're looking for a simple grilled chicken recipe that's packed with bold, smoky flavor, this easy lime-marinated chicken is the one you’ll want to keep in your back pocket. We start with a blend of fresh lime juice, garlic, and warm spices like chili powder, cumin, oregano, and smoked paprika. Our flavorful marinade keeps the chicken tender and juicy. After a quick trip to the grill, you'll have a versatile protein that's perfect for tacos, salads, rice bowls, wraps, or meal prep throughout the week.

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp dried oregano

½ tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp garlic powder

1 tsp kosher salt or to taste

(optional) herb salt

fresh ground pepper

Directions

  1. Place your chicken thighs or breasts into a large bowl and add the olive oil, garlic cloves, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

  2. Mix to coat the chicken, cover, and place in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.

  3. Once ready to grill, heat it up to 400 degrees F and cook them for 3 minutes each side until the internal temperature reads 160 degrees F.

  4. Take the chicken thighs off the grill and place them on a clean plate. Give them 6-10 minutes to rest so that the internal temperature comes up to 165.
